Not even hours after a shooting at a private Christian K-12 school in Madison, Wisconsin claimed the lives of a teacher and a student and left multiple others injured, President Joe Biden had already issued a statement demanding Congress take action on gun control and ban “assault weapons and high capacity magazines.”

"Congress must pass commonsense gun safety laws: Universal background checks. A national red flag law. A ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” Biden said in the statement, adding, "We can never accept senseless violence that traumatizes children, their families, and tears entire communities apart.”
Except that so-called “assault weapons” - i.e., rifles the government deems too scary-looking to be in the hands of ordinary citizens - and “high capacity magazines” had nothing at all to do with the tragedy that occurred at Abundant Life Christian School Monday, when a 15-year-old girl with an obsession with school shootings and an apparent hatred for men walked into the school library with a handgun and started firing away before turning the gun on herself.

In fact, the laws already on the books - like, say, laws against teenagers possessing handguns, laws against taking guns into a school, or laws against killing innocent people - didn’t do a thing to help prevent this or any other senseless tragedy. Nor would red flag laws, which wouldn’t have alerted anyone to danger from a 15-year-old teenager who couldn’t have legally purchased a firearm in the first place. Literally nothing that Biden - who pardoned his own son for federal gun crimes, and who had nothing at all to say when a rich CEO was gunned down on a sidewalk in Manhattan by a deranged socialist lunatic - is now demanding in the wake of the Madison school shooting would have amounted to a hill of beans, proving Democrats are more interested in seizing on a tragedy for political gain than actually preventing gun violence, which is often perpetrated by disturbed individuals with terrible home lives, crappy parenting, and a slew of culturally-induced and social media-fueled mental problems.
None of which leftists would dare to tackle.
