Just like when leftists ripped the Native American of the Land-o’-Lakes butter box while ironically keeping the landscape behind her, it looks like kicking the “Redskins” off the football team hasn’t landed well with the very people to whom they were trying to cater.
Fox News reports that the family of the Native American chief whose image was behind the iconic Redskins logo for nearly five decades wants their ancestors’ likeness put back where it belongs.
The descendants of John Two Guns White Calf, the Blackfeet chief whose profile is on millions of now-defunct jerseys, tumblers, and bumper stickers, said their family was never consulted when the George Soros-backed National Congress of American Indians was lobbying to change the Redskins’ name over claims of “racism.”
Fox reports:
"The fans want him back and we want him back," Thomas White Calf, a great nephew of the celebrated early-20th-century native, said this week by phone, hours after the family met with Sen. Steve Daines, R-Montana.
… "Our ancestor was the most famous and most photographed native in history," said White Calf, who was joined on the call by his mother, Delphine White Calf, a niece of the late Blackfeet chief.
"Two Guns was also the face on the Indian head nickel. I’m proud of him. The Blackfeet are proud of him.”
The family members added that White Calf’s likeness and the Redskins name is "a point of pride and represents the rich Native American history that helped make our nation great, and it should be enthusiastically celebrated across our culture.”

Unfortunately, while the recently renamed Washington Commanders have said they will honor White Calf as part of their franchise's history, they won't be switching back to using his image following their multi-million-dollar rebranding campaign.
So sorry, gentlemen - the white liberals have arrived to tell you how to feel about yourselves, your ancestry, and any mention of your tribe. You’re welcome.
