A left-leaning activist judge ordered a flight carrying illegal alien gang members back to El Salvador to turn around over the weekend - not that it did a whole lot of good - but still, I guess you have to give liberals props for their tenacity in defending unlawfully present criminals with a bent toward murder, rape, and theft.

According to this, Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued an order Saturday putting a 14-day stay on the deportations of some 250 or so Venezuelan gang members, which the Trump administration had justified using an 18th century wartime declaration called the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 by grouping violent Venezuelan gangs under the category of alien enemies. After being told that two planeloads of illegal alien criminals were already in the air at the time of his order, Boasberg issued a verbal order for the planes to turn around and bring the thugs back to the U.S.

In case you were wondering how that went, the Trump administration continued with the flight anyway, dumping the Venezuelan gangbangers - which included members of both Tren de Aragua and MS-13 - in El Salvador per a prior agreement with their president, and where they were met and transferred to a super max prison. The Trump administration is now arguing that because the planes were over international waters and outside U.S. airspace at the time, that the judge’s order was invalid.

Now, a Republican congressman says he’ll be filing articles of impeachment against Boasberg for what Republicans are calling a politically-motivated ruling with no basis in legality.

“I’ll be filing Articles of Impeachment against activist judge James Boasberg this week,” Texas Rep. Brandon Gill wrote on social media Sunday.

While border apprehensions under Trump have hit 25-year lows and the number of detained illegal aliens have maxed out detention facilities, President Trump’s plan for mass deportations has been slow to unfold, largely thanks to court orders and lawsuits filed by groups like the ACLU aimed at allowing illegal aliens to stay in the U.S. despite having no legal claim to do so.
