Now, if I’m not mistaken, the following amounts to a blatant attack on democracy, a denial of the will of the people, and a call for an all-out insurrection. Or at least, those are the rules according to leftists - who, of course, have absolutely no interest in following the standards they throw down for everyone else.
The Hill, which is supposedly a news source, published an article Thursday less than a month shy of Inauguration Day entitled, “Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now.
To be fair, t’s an op-ed - but one The Hill chose to publish. Penned by contributors Van A. Davis and David M. Schulte, the piece argues that “The Constitution provides that an oath-breaking insurrectionist is ineligible to be president.”
An “insurrectionist,” Trump is not. But that doesn’t seem to much matter.

The writers argue in their lengthy diatribe that Congress has a duty to deny certifying the election of a so-called “insurrectionist” to office, and should follow the Constitution’s instructions to keep Trump from assuming the presidency - despite Trump having been voted into office by not only winning the Electoral College 312 to 226, but also the popular vote with 77,302,440 ballots, roughly 2.3 million more than were cast for Kamala Harris.
"To make an objection under the Count Act requires a petition signed by 20 percent of the members of each House. If the objection is sustained by majority vote in each house, the vote is not counted and the number of votes required to be elected is reduced by the number of disqualified votes. If all votes for Trump were not counted, Kamala Harris would be elected president," the op-ed authors conclude.
The will of the people be damned - if, of course, it’s not the will of the left.
