The hemp-chewers who make their living frothing cappuccinos over at Starbucks are losing their purple-haired minds over the company announcing a new dress code for its workers, saying that requiring employees to appear at least somewhat professional at work will limit their personal expression.
"The thing that Starbucks loves to do is allow partners to be 'themselves' or whatever that PR that they want to push. I don’t see how that’s in good faith of letting us express ourselves,” one…uh…individual of unconfirmed gender complained.
Another suggested Starbucks can’t determine what employees can and cannot wear to work because it’s not a “legal action,” saying that employees shouldn’t “accept it lying down.”

Hilariously, the coffee company’s updated dress code is about as non-controversial as it gets - at least, for those of us with a sense of professionalism and the ability to understand that workplaces are places of business, not canvases for our own personal “expression.” Beginning May 12, Starbucks will now require employees to wear simple colored short- or long-sleeved crew-neck, collared or button-up shirts, along with khaki, black or blue denim bottoms, according to its website. The move was meant to highlight the company’s iconic green aprons, which Starbucks said will “create a sense of familiarity” through some basic uniformity across its stores nationwide.
Unionized employees complain the new dress code limits their personal creativity and forces employees to buy new clothes, despite Starbucks saying it would give all employees at least two code-compliant branded shirts for free.
If there’s one thing you can count on among leftists, it’s that in the face of endless hunger for victimhood, they will always wind up eating their own.
