Um…I really don’t know how to explain this. And I fancy myself a wordsmith.

There’s a video of Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer going viral on social media, and for all the wrong reasons. In fact, it’s so bizarre that it defies explanation, and…you kind of just have to see it to believe it. So, um, here:

In the video, Whitmer, who’s wearing a Harris/Walz campaign hat, feeds a Dorito to a kneeling Liz Plank, a Canadian leftwing podcaster, as though she’s giving her the Eucharist, a sacred symbolic ceremony in both Catholicism and greater Christianity. (Whitmer had apparently just gone on Plank's show to discuss the left's love for abortion.) Adding to the inexplicable weirdness of the whole thing, the clip is set to “Dilemma,” an early 2000s-era song by Kelly Rowland and Nelly with the lyrics "I love you/And I need you/Nelly I love you/I do need you/No matter what I do/All I think about is you."

And literally no one on the internet seems to understand what’s happening here.

In fact, I’ve scoured social media and no one seems to have any explanation for this bizarreness, except to assume Whitmer is mocking Catholics and Christians with a blasphemous rendition of Communion.

And these are the people who say JD Vance is weird.
