3.5 Years On, UN Rights Chief Still Waiting For China to Agree to ‘Parameters’ of Visit to Xinjiang

Rights advocates had been hoping the U.N.’s top human rights official would be able to visit Xinjiang long before the Beijing Olympics, which open this week, but more than three years after she first asked China to allow a visit, her spokesman says the “parameters” are still under discussion.
