Just in time to stir up resistance to the Trump Administration’s whirlwind of government change, PBS is beginning a series called “On Democracy,” which aims to go beyond the day to day news “to look at big questions about the changing laws, institutions and norms.” PBS News Hour co-host Amna Nawaz conducted the series’ first interview on Thursday’s edition, with Barton Gellman from the unlabeled liberal legal group Brennan Center for Justice.
In a program filled even more than usual with fear and loathing for President Trump and Trump advisor Elon Musk’s actions (including co-host Geoff Bennett’s exchange with Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) and Bennett later pushing an alarmist climate change study by Jim Hansen to counter Trump’s move to “dismantle U.S. efforts to fight climate change”) it was perhaps the most slanted.
