While pushed the narrative that President Trump has stoked tensions, he ignored the media's role in stoking racial hostility. For years, his own show has demonstrated a solid pattern of misrepresenting the true racial breakdown of police shooting cases by making it appear that nearly all such shooting victims are from one racial group when, in reality, an overwhelming majority of those shot and killed by police are either white or Hispanic.
In the past two and a half years, since January 1, 2018, New Day has highlighted 17 cases in which cops shot suspects under questionable circumstances. In 15 of those cases, CNN made sure to make clear that the victim was black while, in the remaining two cases, in which the victim was Hispanic or of mixed race, neither the victim's race or name was identified.
Several other cases covered circumstances in which it appeared clear that the police were provoked by a gunman, and, in most of those cases, race was also not divulged.
Those cases included Matthew Riehl of Aurora, Dennis Tuttle of Austin, Rhogena of Austin, Aaron , who were white, Gary martin of Colorado who was black, and Acevedo who was Hispanic. Of that group, only Riehl's race was made clear as an image of him was used.
The case of Tuttle and Rhogena is especially significant because, when it first appeared that they were drug dealers who had injured several cops who raided their home, New Day covered the case, but, after it turned out that they appeared to be innocent, and the lead cop in the case was arrested for falsifying the search warrant, and was charged with murder, the show has never taken the time to update viewers on the dramatic twist.
By contrast, the same show made sure to highlight the recent shooting death of Breonna Taylor during a no-knock raid in Louisville, Kentucky, which fits the racial angle the media prefer to push.
The other 14 black shooting victims covered by CNN's New Day in the past couple of years are Stephon Clark in Sacramento, Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Antwon Rose in Philadelphia, Philando Castile in Minneapolis, Harith Augustus in Chicago, Daniel Hambrick in Nashville, Jordan Edwards in Austin, Botham Jean in Dallas, Laquan McDonald in Chicago, Jemele Roberson in Chicago, Brandon Webber in Memphis, Atatiana Jefferson in Forth Worth, Anthony Hill near Atlanta, and E.J. Bradford Jr. in Hoover, Alabama.

Noteworthy police shooting cases New Day ignored include the Aprill 2019 murder conviction of Mohamed Noor, who shot unarmed white female Justine Damond, and the August 2019 shooting of , an unarmed white woman who was accidentally shot by a police officer when her dog chased him.
Regular viewers of CNN could be forgiven for believing that nearly all police shooting victims are of one race since that's the misleading narrative that the liberal news outlets presents.
