Amid 9.1% Unemployment Rate, Obama Reiterates Call for High Speed Rail Citing Europe's "Fancier Trains"

Today, President Barack Obama repeated his call for federal money to be used to build high speed trains across the United States.  In a speech delivered to workers at a Chrysler plant in Toledo Ohio, the president bemoaned the fact that European nations had "fancier trains" than the United States and once again urged an increase in taxpayer funding for high-speed rail.  The president's comments come on the same day as the announcement that the U.S. unemployment rate has jumped to 9.1%, increasing concerns that the U.S. economy might be weakening once again.
