Hi folks,
I'm taping this on the eve of the elections. Voting starts tomorrow at the polls. I'll be doing a lot of media in other venues, but I wanted to send a message just to our supporters today. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. Anyone who tells you he knows is just guessing better than anyone else.
But I can tell you this. The job of the Media Research Center isn't, can't be legally, the election or defeat of any one candidate. Our job from the start was to expose and to neutralize the leftist media and their attempts to elect a president. We made a vow to you that we would spend from the start till the finish 24/7 of our efforts to defeat the media, that you would see this organization every single day taking on the press because that's what it was going to take.
I'm so proud of our staff. You could be up before dawn, and they'd be working. You could be up past midnight, and they'd be working. Nothing stopped them. But in fact, everyone used their material, every one of consequence. President Trump was using MRC material. Don Jr. was using MRC material. Mark Levin was using our stuff on a regular basis. Charlie Kirk was using us. Speaker Mike Johnson, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee on Capitol Hill. They were all using our information.
On Fox, you had Sean Hannity on a regular basis. Laura Ingraham was using our information. And out there, the biggest heavyweights of them all. Men like Tucker Carlson were relying on the MRC. Elon Musk, think about this. He's got 202.8 million followers. That's way beyond the conservative base. He was on a regular basis using our information. We said the media were going to try to elect the president, and we were absolutely right.
In our final poll that we did. It showed that for the duration of the campaign, from the moment Kamala Harris entered the race, the coverage for her was 78% positive. For Donald Trump, even after two assassination attempts on him, 85% negative. From start to finish, their goal was to destroy him. Now, folks, had the public believed the media in this election cycle, Kamala Harris would have won by 20 points. She would have won the biggest landslide in history had they believed what the media had to say about Donald Trump and what the media had to say about her.
But that isn't what happened. Two numbers that really speak to the effectiveness of the MRC. One, a Gallup poll that came out last month showing that the trust in the national news media is at 31%. That is the lowest in recorded history. The second one, a poll by a company called YouGov that looks at intensity, only 7% of the public say they truly believe what they're getting from the media. We can take credit for that. But here's the point: I don't want us to take credit for that. I want you to take credit for that. You made this possible. You fueled this engine. Without your support, what we did in this cycle, whatever we do is impossible. I will tell you this. No matter who wins tomorrow, the fight is going to go on. The struggle is going to continue. We're going to have new mountains we’re going to have to scale. We're not going to stop again. Not for a minute. We continue.
But I do want to take a moment to state from the bottom of my heart my gratitude to you for everything you've done for the Media Research Center.
