As ABC’s The View returned from its holiday break today, hosts took to the table to discuss the incidents of January 6th, 2021. Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg expressed their worries of the day being “whitewashed” from history, Hostin going as far as to claim the date as one of the worst in American History.
Undoubtedly an imperfect moment for America, January 6th continues to be a point of contention, yet many use it as an extreme example, Hostin a perfect example of this. As she began the conversation she expressed a necessity in remembering the events of the day as “one of the worst moments in American history.” As a moment in American history, once again January 6th is nothing to be proud over. Yet Hostin continues to an extreme that is near insane:
You don't move on because January 6th was an atrocity. Was one of the worst moments in American history, and when you think about the worst moments in American history, you know, like World War II, things that happened, you know, like holocaust, chattel slavery. We need to never forget because past becomes prologue if you forget and erase.
