Hypocritical PBS Criticizes Federal Cuts in Arts Funding, Bashes National Debt

When it’s not bashing Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” for furthering the national debt, the PBS News Hour works hard to poison the well against any reductions in federal spending. Both hypocritical facets were on display in recent episodes.

Thursday’s edition featured 19 minutes of coverage of the bill as it’s being taken up by the Senate, emphasizing politically convenient concerns about trillions of dollars being added to the national debt. Yet the night before, PBS also dug up yet another sob story about relatively small cuts in government spending for the controversial National Endowment for the Arts: “Local arts groups face budget gaps as NEA pulls grants.”
