Amid protests in Iran triggered by the death in custody of a young woman arrested over improper hijab wear, an Iranian-born actor and rights advocate says she hopes female officials and journalists meeting with Iran’s president in New York don’t follow headscarf stipulations, as an act of “solidarity with the people of Iran.”
