New US Islamic Group Plans Census, Says Opponents Lowball The Number of American Muslims ‘For Political Reasons’

At the launch of a new umbrella group for America Muslim organizations, a leader said the number of Muslims in the U.S. was estimated at seven to eight million, but “opponents” claim the number is much smaller, “for political reasons.” The new body plans a census, with an eye of enhancing Muslim participation in 2016 elections.
