NewsBusters pointed out Piers Morgan's false claim, made to bolster his gun control agenda, that Virginia had the highest murder rate in the country in 2009 (it was 24th).

38 hours after he made the claim, Morgan apologized on Twitter. His on-air apology came Thursday night on his show.
