On PBS’s Friday edition of Amanpour and Company, guest host Bianna Golodryga didn’t bother to even pretend to care about journalistic standards as she interviewed the ACLU’s Chase Strangio about President Trump and red states allegedly “vilifying” transgender people.

Later, Golodryga asked Strangio one of the softest questions ever, “We've heard enormous political rhetoric, advertisements made. The president has spoken about this, but not just the president, a number of politicians about trans athletes in particular. Yet, NCAA data shows that fewer than 10 out of 510,000 athletes are transgender. What does that gap between reality and rhetoric tell you about how this issue is being used politically?”
Putting aside the fact that it is also high school athletics, what matters is the principle. Similar percentages of NBA players or MLB umpires bet on games, but sports leagues have a zero-tolerance policy for gambling because it takes just one bad actor to create the appearance of a scam and ruin it for everyone else.
