Sherrod Brown Uses The Word "Niggardly"

While the word 'niggardly' means 'stingy', others have used the word and took fire for it's close relation to a racial slur. The real question is, if a Republican would have used this term, would Democrats be attacking them for it's close relation to the derogatory word? (h/t Daily Caller)
