Standoff: Khamenei Says US Must Lift Sanctions First; Biden Says Iran Must Return to Compliance First

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says the U.S. must lift all sanctions before Iran resumes its commitments under the 2014 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal. But President Biden has reitereated that the U.S. will not lift sanctions before Iran makes good on its JCPOA obligations.
