Todd Cues Up Mayorkas to Tout Biden’s Fitness for Re-Election: ‘Incredibly Sharp’

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, moderator Chuck Todd cued up Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, to champion President Biden as fully fit for re-election. Todd: “Is he up for a second term?” Mayorkas maintained: “A hundred percent. Incredibly sharp, incredibly probing, incredible command of the details, probing on the details.”

Todd’s not so tough follow-up: “You have full confidence he can serve a second term?” Mayorkas repeated his 100 percent line and then Todd wrapped up the segment without ever challenging the upbeat assurances from Mayorkas.
