US Envoy on Maduro’s Survival: ‘These Regimes All Look Very Stable Until The Day That They Fall’

U.S. special envoy for Venezuela Elliott Abrams on Tuesday dismissed the notion that Washington’s response to the crisis there is not reaping the results it hoped for, pointing to the dramatic shifts that have occurred, and expressing confidence that the Maduro regime will collapse in time. “These regimes all look very stable until the day that they fall, which is very often a considerable surprise.”
