WH Attributes Putin’s Call for Ukraine to Withdraw Forces to ‘a Senior Russian Gov’t Official’

Almost six hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin was reported Thursday calling on Ukraine to withdraw its armed forces from southeastern Ukraine, White House press secretary Jay Carney described the call as “preposterous” – but attributed it to “a senior Russian government official,” instead of to Putin himself.
